- £34, A GLASS OF CHAMPAGNE
So afternoon tea runs from 2pm to 5pm
Dress code is literally however you feel on the day! It’s smart-casual I would say. You’d definitely feel out of place in a tracksuit for sure!
Oh my god, the grounds are literally so picturesque, it’s definitely an ideal place for weddings and special occasions, everything looks so grand and surrounded with beautiful flowers!
I’m not sure quite what I was expecting but I died when I saw the cakes come out on a mini tennis court, how extra is that?! It even had fake astro turf, I can’t deal!
There were so many different choices of cakes to choose from, there was a Pimms jelly one (for the alcohol lovers), a nutty one, a strawberry one (my favourite, it had vanilla cream on it, absolutely delicious) and a battenburg. And to go with all of that, there were scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam plus a range of finger sandwiches. Honestly I was about to pop when I left there yesterday, I was full up for the rest of the evening!
I’m not gonna lie to you, when I go to a restaurant, I’m that girl who pretends to read the menu when really I know I’m gonna order the same thing every single time so teas like this are great because it encourages you to try something new! I feel like restaurants should take on this idea and do a taster of everything they sell, how good would that be!?
By the way, just a little tip.. you know the tea strainer they give you with your teas, make sure you use it, I accidentally poured my tea without using it and was left with the tea leaves, honestly it musta been the prosecco I had!
