I love a Sunday Funday especially when it involves good company (my dear Emily) and a cuteeeeeeee afternoon tea (Down Hall). The two combined followed with cake and Prosecco, sums up the perfect afternoon if you ask me?
If you read my blog you will know I’m a sucker for an afternoon tea and I am such a foodie so I love discovering new places to show you guys so you can too, join in on all the fun. Today I visited Down Hall to try out their ever so talked about afternoon tea to see if the proof really was in the pudding (for those wondering; it was).
So afternoon tea runs from 2pm to 5pm
It’s just look pretty type of vibe, no trainers, no tracksuits, look cute!
It’s very intimate and posh but it doesn’t make you feel out-of-place if that makes sense, like it does have a very warm, relaxed vibe, but it’s definitely not the sort of place you wanna shout and go wild at, it has a therapeutic kind of atmosphere almost like a spa kind of vibe. I videoed the tray when it came out and it had some opera type music playing, they do play a range of songs so don’t panic if that’s not your thing, it’s not all opera.
Obviously at afternoon Tea, you have tea, for us it’s a breakfast tea made strong with a dash of milk (we like our tea as tanned as us). But there are lots of other teas to choose from (flavoured teas etc), we weren’t in the daring mood today as nothing goes better with cake than a good old english cuppaaa!! We also had a glass of Prosecco too!
Afternoon tea for the two of us started at 3pm and it took us roughly around 2 and a half hours to eat, drink, catch up and soak in the full experience. I 100% recommend not eating before hand as it really is a lot to get through, but a lot in a good way. We tried everything on the tray bar two sandwiches as we had already filled ourselves up on cake (we did it all a bit backwards), we did however try them though and it’s a thumbs up from us. The food itself was amazing, I especially loved the cake section as they were all so different from each other (hard to choose a favourite).
The staff were ever so accommodating. Always checking if we were okay and topping us up whenever we ran low on tea (I say whenever because we got through a lot). They just pop up at the right time so you never have to ask for anything which is ideal as it just makes the day go smoothly. And we got offered photos from each of the staff which was a nice touch, I mean in this generation anyone who is willing to take a photo of you off their own back are just game changers, you just gotta run with it, doesn’t happen often.
I personally would take Mums, Aunts, Sisters, Grandparents etc.. It’s perfect for special occasions, birthday presents, celebrations. or just a catch up with one of the girls.
Thank you to everyone at Down Hall who were looking after us today, we had the best time and we can’t wait to visit you guys again! Stay fabulous as always.
